The Royal Commission held a public hearing in Sydney from Monday 9 to Thursday 19 December 2013 and from Wednesday 22 to Friday 24 January 2014.
The public hearing inquired into the establishment, operation and review of the Towards Healing process by the Catholic Church.
The scope and purpose of the public hearing was to inquire into:

The principles and procedures of Towards Healing adopted by the Catholic Church and their application in responding to:
-
Victims of child sexual abuse; and
-
Allegations of child sexual abuse against personnel of the Catholic Church.

The experience of people who have engaged in the Towards Healing process.

Any other related matters.
