Royal Commission to hold public hearing in Melbourne

The Royal Commission will hold a public hearing in Melbourne commencing on Monday 18 August 2014.

The hearing will be held at the County Court of Victoria, 250 William Street, Melbourne 3000.

The scope and purpose of the public hearing is to inquire into:

  1. The principles, practices and procedures of the Melbourne Response adopted by the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne and their application in responding to:

    • a. Victims of child sexual abuse; and

    • b. Allegations of child sexual abuse against personnel of the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne.

  2. The experience of people who have engaged in the Melbourne Response process, or otherwise sought redress from the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne.

  3. Any other related matters.
