Research & Resources

The Royal Commission conducted an extensive research and policy program to support its work. Issues papers, consultation papers and public and private roundtables were opportunities for individuals, organisations and governments to provide us with considered views about institutional responses to child sexual abuse and proposals for policy reform.

A program of research was established to answer some of the key questions regarding child sexual abuse in institutional contexts and respond to gaps in the Australian and international evidence base.

Underpinning the policy and research programs were targeted engagement strategies, including speeches and media releases that helped to keep the community informed and to ensure survivors and other stakeholders could provide input to inform the Royal Commission’s inquiry.

In addition, legislation and a glossary of terms provided comprehensive reference materials.
